STOCKTON, Calif. – The Fresno State baseball team continues their road trip with a stop at Klein Family Field to face the Pacific Tigers for the second time this season.

THE LAST TIME

Fresno State hosted the Pacific Tigers on March 5, 2024, in an early midweek matchup.

Eddie Saldivar led the Bulldog offense, going 3-4 with five RBIs and a home run.

Closer Tommy Hopfe earned his first win of the season with a hitless inning on the mound.

This was the Bulldogs' only extra-innings game of the season with Saldivar singling to secure a walk-off 9-8 win in the 10th.

THE CATS THIS SEASON

The Tigers are currently 9-38 on the season and have lost 12 of their last 13 games.

Jake Tandy leads the Tigers with a .271 average.

Leading from the mound is junior Jakob Guardado, who holds a 5.57 ERA and .333 OBA.

DOGS IN THE RANKS

Despite the five-game losing streak, the Diamond 'Dogs are still leading the Mountain West in several categories and are making waves in the national rankings.

Tommy Hopfe (69) and Eddie Saldivar have accumulated the most hits in the conference this season while Ben Newton has had the most doubles with 21, the sixth most in the country.

Fresno State also has the best ERA (5.35) and fielding percentage (.976) in the conference.

Nationally, Fresno State ranks ninth with 114 team doubles and 2.43 doubles per game, seventh in strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.14) and fourth in walks allowed per nine innings (2.92).
